Floh brings a few great training challenges to his new family that need to be tackled together.
Among other things, Floh hates being alone. He is generally house-trained, but urinates in the house when frustrated, especially when he is alone.
Work also needs to be done on areas such as his compatibility with other dogs, accepting and following clear rules and structures, as well as the social skills between human and dog.
Floh has a habit of questioning people. If they are inconsistent and don't provide him with a reliable framework, his behavior will immediately tip into the negative (socially motivated aggression, frustration and leash aggression).
A great example of Floh's frustration and leash aggression is the fact that it doesn't occur in the animal shelter, as he has regular contact with other dogs there and then walks calmly on the leash.
Here he proves to be uncomplicated and easy to get along with - because rules and consistency - he will continue to need these in his new home! This is very important, otherwise he will immediately revert to his old behavior patterns within a very short time. Floh is looking for a home with people experienced with terriers who exude confidence and calmness. His people must have an understanding of training and be willing to continue working on his problems. There should be NO children in Floh's new home. However, we could imagine that Floh would benefit from having another dog or a confident resident dog, if he gets along well with them.
