I'm Claus

—a Pharaoh Hound who's still a little unsure of his place and needs a bit more time to settle in.

This is me:

New people and new environments initially unsettle me. Changes aren't easy for me, and I need significantly longer than many other dogs to build trust and get used to new situations. Once I feel secure, I can develop a close bond with my people.

Being left alone is currently very difficult for me. Especially at the beginning, someone should ideally always be with me, otherwise I bark incessantly and become overwhelmed by the situation. My new family should therefore have enough time to gently introduce me to everyday life.

I also have spondylosis and coxarthrosis and therefore require ongoing pain medication. Nevertheless, I really enjoy walks and spending time with my people. I wish for a quiet home with patient people who will give me the time I need to settle in – preferably not in the busiest part of town. Hectic environments, constant changes, or long periods alone would not be good for me. Especially during the first few weeks, it's important that someone is always there for me. People who understand my physical limitations and reliably continue my necessary pain management would be perfect for me. In return, you'll have the chance to have a loyal companion who simply needs a little more time to open their heart.
