I'm Laila

—a sweet but very insecure and anxious dog looking for a wonderful home.

This is me:

I was rescued for animal welfare reasons and am a rather quiet, sensitive dog who is quite anxious and insecure at first. Once I've gained someone's trust, however, I show my loving and affectionate side. Until then, though, I need a little more time and patience.

I'm very cautious around strangers at first. I need time to get to know someone and feel safe. I get along well with other dogs and can be calmly led past them. Therefore, I could definitely share my new home with a suitable resident dog. I'm also house-trained and enjoy food games.

I bark quite a bit. Especially with strangers, I can sometimes make my opinion known for quite a while. But I also like to loudly comment on my surroundings – there's a lot of insecurity involved. I was diagnosed with a heart murmur, for which I receive medication. I also had mammary tumors, which were removed here at the shelter. I wish for… a loving home with experienced dog owners who have lots of patience and understanding for me and will gently win my heart. I am a sweet dog – just very insecure and anxious. A quiet living environment with as little commotion as possible is especially important to me. A hectic household would not be suitable. Children should not live in my new home. A friendly, compatible second dog would be perfectly possible. Please plan several visits to the shelter to get to know me. Do you have a heart for a little anxious dog? Perhaps I can soon show you what a sweet dog I am!
