Lio – looking for a new job

Lio was surrendered to us because his previous owners, lacking the necessary prior experience, wanted to train him as a guard dog for security services and were overwhelmed by the responsibility of caring for him. The now three-year-old Malinois has a lot of potential, but due to his isolated living conditions and inadequate training, he has developed some behavioral issues. We are looking for experienced owners of this breed who enjoy working with a highly intelligent, eager-to-please dog – and who will also provide him with the necessary security and structure.

What makes me special

  1. I am intelligent, eager to learn, and extremely motivated

  2. I have a very high work ethic and want to be challenged

  3. I can easily stay alone for a few hours

  4. I love car rides

  5. I love water and enjoy being outdoors

  6. I walk well on a loose leash and am quite easy to walk past other dogs

  7. I wear my muzzle without any problems

What needs to be worked on with me

  1. I am easily overwhelmed in new or highly stimulating situations and need a lot of support. Instructions

  2. I was trained to attack people and therefore have to wear a muzzle in many everyday situations

  3. I am poorly socialized with other dogs; I would need to be introduced to living with other dogs very carefully; however, we don't want to rule it out entirely

  4. I have been kept isolated and haven't received appropriate exercise – I need to make up for that now

  5. Children should not live in my new home

  6. I need a very secure property, ideally in a quiet, rural area

  7. Experience with Malinois or protection dogs is absolutely essential for my adoption

What I'm looking for

  1. A home with clearly structured, dog-experienced people

  2. I'm looking for a meaningful task; However, I never want to participate in protection dog sports again. A calm environment with few distractions – a detached house with a garden would be ideal. A daily routine with fixed activities and meaningful pursuits. A home without children – I am not suitable as a family dog. Patience, understanding, and a willingness to work with me on my issues. We look forward to hearing from you!
