Rex

Male Rex - Labrador Mix - 2 years old, looking for a home

The male Rex did not have a good start in his young life. We know nothing about his first home, except that Rex had an injured tail when he was given away, and it was also shortened. Unfortunately, the agile dog was given to an older man with health problems. Failure was inevitable, as he simply couldn't cope with this dog in terms of strength. And so, failure was practically inevitable, and Rex came to us...

According to his ID card, Rex is a Labrador mix, but we do not know what other breeds are included here. He was born on November 17, 2022, is unneutered, vaccinated, and has a European Pet Passport.

Rex is a friendly dog with people, but not suitable for beginners. He hasn't learned much basic obedience so far, and his leash skills still need improvement. However, he likes to please people. He sits and stays, and he waits for his food. He is content when a person is nearby and then lies relaxed in his place. When we go for walks, he pulls on the leash, but you can hardly blame him, as he hasn't learned it and is so happy to be outside. Rex has a hunting instinct, and it's best not to have cats in his new home. He prefers to catch mice himself...

Rex has two "problem areas" that absolutely need work. The male has learned to pull himself out of his collar. He likes to use this trick when he doesn't want to do something. And he seriously injured a male dog at dog training school. Unfortunately, instead of training him to wear a muzzle, Rex was expelled from dog training school. We started muzzle training, and we plan to continue it if possible. Only then will Rex be able to reconnect with other dogs.

In summary: Rex is eager to learn and people-oriented, but has always had bad luck in his home. Therefore, we are looking for someone with dog experience who is willing to train Rex and show him that he can rely on his owner, even if the journey together might be a bit strenuous at first. A fenced garden would be a dream for Rex.
