Mokka

Mokka is a 6-year-old Presa Canario female dog who was confiscated by the police and brought to us. She is very open towards people, has a friendly nature, and enjoys every pat she can get. Mokka has a "bed in the cornfield" with us. She has her own wooden box filled with straw because she thankfully survived "multiple attacks with blankets and pillows" unscathed. The pillows and blankets, however, weren't so lucky. Due to previous incidents involving biting other dogs, Mokka must be kept on a leash and muzzled during walks. She finds encounters with other dogs difficult and needs a lot more training. Encounters with small, barking dogs, in particular, are very challenging for her. Presumably, Mokka was subjected to too much physical exertion when she was young, or there was an incident that was largely ignored. This would at least explain the two untreated ligament tears that our veterinarian was able to detect in her. Furthermore, he was also able to diagnose that she has spondylosis and hip dysplasia. Regular physiotherapy is therefore essential so that she can enjoy a better and longer pain-free life.

We are looking for a home for our Mokka that has the expertise to keep dangerous dogs, as she will take her classification with her to her new home.

The future owners should be aware that they will have to invest time and money in the health of this wonderful dog in order to be able to spend many more happy years together. Mokka is such a loving dog; every moment spent with her rewards your dedication. Her new owners should have plenty of time for closeness and affection for Mokka. She needs, demands, and loves this very much. Ideally, there should not be children or other animals in the household. A nighttime room, barn or cottage, preferably with a straw bed (preferably heated or with a heat lamp, as she doesn't tolerate cold well), with access to the yard or garden would be desirable, but is not essential.
