I'm Mikesch
I originally came from a Romanian animal shelter. Unfortunately, things didn't go so well in my German home; I would bite people when being petted or having my harness put on. At the shelter, I'm still a bit wary when having my harness put on, but overall I'm much more relaxed. At first, I was very skittish when touched, but now I seek out affection, enjoy being petted, and love cuddles.
Would you like to know more about me?
I walk well on a leash and don't bark aggressively. I do guard my food, water, and bowls – so clear rules and consistent resource management are important for my new home. I arrived at the shelter overweight, but I'm now on the right track. Every gram less helps my mobility, of course, and I'm happy if we can continue working on that together. Medically, I have mild hip dysplasia, minor coxarthrosis, moderate knee osteoarthritis, and early-stage osteoarthritis in my shoulder – but I'll receive free, lifelong treatment for these conditions at the shelter's veterinary clinic (including pain medication). I can probably already stay alone for a few hours. I'm looking for… a quiet, dog-experienced home (preferably on the ground floor or with an elevator) where my handling can be structured: no surprise petting, announcements before touching, harness training in tiny steps, and clear feeding rules. A household without children would be best. Would you like to give me a home and your trust?
