Nagini

Livestock Guardian Mix

Nagini came to the shelter after being seized. Here, this beautiful young dog presents herself as very friendly. Although she is initially a little unsure around strangers, if you give her space and let her decide when she wants to make contact, she quickly warms up and shows her affectionate side. The Alabai, or Central Asian Shepherd, belongs to the livestock guardian breeds. These dogs cannot be handled by just anyone; they need consistent caregivers who can guide them with confident composure. Physically, livestock guardians like Nagini are very strong. They were bred to protect grazing animals from large predators, such as wolves. This requires courage and decisiveness, which is why livestock guardians tend to move forward quickly if they feel threatened. Due to her breed, Nagini will only be placed with very experienced dog owners (ideally with livestock guardian dogs) who have a house and garden. Whether she gets along with other dogs depends on their individual personalities. Older, sensible children from about 12 years old are no problem for her. If you would like to meet our wonderful Nagini, please plan to visit us several times. We look forward to your inquiry!
