Background

Alice comes from the mayor's public shelter of Karditsa — a place with very difficult and stressful conditions for the dogs. Many animals spend long periods of time there without sufficient attention, activity, or protection from stress. Alice also had to endure this situation for an extended period. To give her a better chance, she was allowed to leave the shelter and now lives with our animal rescuer Xristina in front of her house. It is much quieter there, and she can finally find some peace and experience regular contact with people. Nevertheless, even this place cannot replace a real home – Alice is still waiting to finally arrive.

Character & Personality

Alice is an enchanting dog with a very special charm. With her short legs, large erect ears, and pretty, fox-like face, she is somewhat reminiscent of a Corgi. But it's not just her extraordinary appearance that makes her special; our Alice also has a lot to offer in terms of personality! This pretty dog shows her most endearing side to people. She is extremely affectionate and cuddly, and enjoys every stroke and the closeness of her caregivers. Once she has gained trust, she proves to be a loving companion who loves to participate in her people's lives. Alice is also completely uncomplicated when it comes to grooming: whether it's a shower, checking her paws, or having her mouth examined – she patiently and without any problems allows it all. However cute Alice may look, she has a confident little personality with a mind of her own! She knows exactly what she wants and possesses a charming amount of stubbornness. Sometimes she tries to get her way with remarkable tenacity. Therefore, she longs for people who can guide her with loving consistency, patience, and clear, reliable rules. When interacting with other dogs, Alice shows that she knows her personal boundaries and communicates them clearly. A harmonious coexistence with other dogs was a given in Greece, but here, due to the new changes, it must develop carefully and should be attentively supported by her humans. Since Alice has only recently arrived in Germany, she is still in the process of settling in and should first be allowed to arrive in peace, build trust, and find her place in this still unfamiliar world. Her foster family is supporting her with great patience and affection and is discovering new sides of her every day. Alice is not your average dog, but a little character with heart, brains, and a good dose of personality. She wants to be understood, loved, and lovingly accompanied through life. Anyone who enjoys an independent, clever, and incredibly affectionate dog could find a wonderful companion in Alice. Because behind these short legs lies a big heart that finally wants to belong to its people.

Desired Home

For Alice, we wish a loving, preferably quiet home with people who already have experience with dogs and enjoy a confident, independent personality. She needs people who treat her with patience, understanding, and loving consistency, and who provide her with security and orientation through clear rules and a structured daily routine. A cozy retreat where she can relax undisturbed is just as important to Alice as shared activities, plenty of exercise, and of course, lots of cuddles. When living with other dogs, Alice values her personal space and makes it clear when she wants to be left alone. Therefore, we think a home as the only dog would be particularly suitable for her. However, a home with an existing, well-balanced dog is by no means out of the question, provided the two get along well. Alice longs for people who will accept her with all her endearing quirks, give her time to settle in, and grow together with her into a well-coordinated team.
