I'm Kira
—a very sensitive and anxious dog who longs for nothing more than a quiet home with understanding people.
This is me:
New situations and unfamiliar people quickly make me insecure. But once I've gained trust, I show my loving, people-oriented, and cuddly side. Then I really enjoy being close to my people. But I need time to get used to new people and situations.
I'm a loving dog who loves being with her people. But when I'm scared, I don't want to be crowded. Unfortunately, I've snapped in my previous home because this wasn't taken into account. That's why it's especially important that my future family understands body language and respects boundaries. Because I would never intentionally do anything bad.
I'm not always safe around other dogs either. Larger and black dogs, in particular, frighten me because I was bitten by one of those dogs once. However, I can get along quite well with suitable canine companions. A calm, confident resident dog might even help me gain more confidence. We would have to try it out together to see if we click. Also, I had a slipped disc and therefore absolutely shouldn't have to climb stairs.
My biggest handicap: I can't be left alone at all right now and need people who can adapt to that.
I wish for…a loving, low-stress home with experienced dog owners, ideally with experience caring for fearful dogs. You should be patient, take my insecurities seriously, and give me the security I so desperately need. A quiet residential area with little hustle and bustle would be ideal for me. My new home should be on the ground floor or accessible by elevator so I don't have to climb stairs. There shouldn't be any children in the household. Please plan for several visits to the shelter to get to know me. May I give you my heart? I would be so happy!
