Notfelle Niederrhein e.V.

Since the association was founded in 2013, we at Notfellen have been tirelessly committed to helping animals in need. A central concern is the control and care of free-roaming cat populations: Stray cats are captured, neutered, provided with medical care, and, if tame or young enough, placed in foster homes, socialized, and then placed with loving adoptive families. In addition to this core work, the association has been operating an animal food bank since 2016, which supports low-income pet owners. Regular donations of food and supplies prevent animals from being surrendered or abandoned due to financial hardship. This project has since been expanded: a veterinarian is now present at the distribution appointments to perform necessary examinations, microchip animals, and administer vaccinations. In addition, the association supports owners in need with neuter subsidies to ensure long-term animal welfare and prevent uncontrolled reproduction.
