Rehoming assistance: Beagle Paula is looking for her forever home
Paula, a 6-year-old female Beagle (tricolor, spayed, approx. 18 kg), is looking for a new home. Paula is a friendly, eager-to-learn, and sensitive dog who needs calm, understanding, and clear guidance by her side.
Paula is a very loving, curious, and affectionate dog who loves being with her people. She knows the basic commands and a few tricks, and walks well on a leash. She handles dog encounters based on her affinity for the other dog – she plays exuberantly with some of her canine friends – and she enthusiastically retrieves her ball. She loves search games with treats. She learns quickly and enjoys any kind of shared activity. Café and restaurant visits are no problem with her.
Where Paula needs support
Paula is a sensitive dog who can sometimes become overwhelmed quickly in certain situations. Large, fast-moving trucks, loud noises, hectic movements, or strangers approaching her too directly can frighten her. When she feels threatened, she has even used her teeth out of insecurity to create space. Her current owners are unsettled by this and use a muzzle outdoors – which Paula accepts without any problem. However, with people who can read her body language, make her feel safe, and don't crowd her, Paula shows how friendly and cooperative she is. Therefore, she needs people who can give her security and time. For Paula, we wish for a quiet environment, preferably rural or on the outskirts of a city. A house with a fenced yard would be ideal, but a quiet apartment is also possible. The loud, hectic city is not for her. Small children should not live in the household. We have no experience with this; currently, there are no children living in the house. A confident resident dog who gives her security would be nice – but Paula can also live well as an only dog.
