The beautiful Giant Schnauzer male, Dino, is urgently seeking a new home.
The family unfortunately has to give up this handsome and athletic fellow because things aren't working out well between Dino and their young daughter.
He is 5 years old, 65 cm tall, and weighs 35 kg.
Behavior towards people
Dino is very friendly towards his people and those he knows. He often overdoes it and needs to be reined in during his exuberance. He is skeptical of strangers. It takes him some time to make contact. Behavior towards other dogs: He has had little contact with other dogs lately. Here, it depends on personal preference. He is probably not suitable as a second dog. Other animals/hunting instinct: He reacts noticeably to the movement of smaller animals, such as cats and rabbits. But it's still available here.
Basic Obedience/Leash Training
Dino was trained as a young dog at a dog training ground and passed two tests to become a companion dog. He certainly hasn't forgotten everything, but he still needs some refresher training here.
Staying Alone
Staying alone is no problem for the giant. The new owners shouldn't forget to lock the door, because Dino can open it. Car rides: He was always in the trunk when we went for a ride. The main thing was that he was there and smelled good. Play/learning behavior/His passions are: Dino is an intelligent giant who likes to use his nose. His activity level has been far too low in the last two years. He would certainly welcome new tasks.
Health and Care:
Grooming is going great. He is used to visits to the dog groomer and behaves well at the vet.
Fears/Insecurities:
No fears are known.
Our wishes for the new family:
We wish for the handsome and athletic Dino a household without small children.
People who enjoy keeping this intelligent dog busy, giving him tasks, and starting a new life together. Dino is not a dog for beginners and should go to loving people who know what it means to bring a giant into their home. Do you feel this speaks to you?
