Ludi's life has unfortunately been very turbulent in the past. Some dogs harbor a certain potential for danger and aggression, which, without responsible leadership, can quickly lead to serious problems. Ludi also has this potential and has frequently used her teeth in the past. A problem that could normally be addressed easily and without complications, as Ludi is already showing great motivation to work with us at the animal shelter and is thoroughly enjoying our time together. With a muzzle and leash, the trip to the animal shelter could easily have been avoided, but unfortunately, this safety measure and its potential in training were not utilized. As a result of further, recurring biting incidents, Ludi was finally taken to the animal shelter so that we could catch up on her training and find responsible new owners. Since the Australian Shepherd bitch had always been allowed to decide for herself what she wanted to do in the past, she now has to learn for the first time to accept other people's rules or at least to compromise. Slowly but surely, she's softening up and increasingly cooperating with her humans – especially when it comes to treats, she's absolutely "on fire" during training. Once she realizes that the reward is right, you have to slow her down so she can listen again instead of just mindlessly pulling off tricks to get cookies. Her figure would also benefit from focusing more on alternative, calming rewards, as her starting weight shows that Ludi quickly gains weight if the diet plan is taken too lightly. Being together, instead of just going side by side, will probably be a fairly everyday challenge for a human-Ludi team, because the pretty lady has a pronounced stubbornness and a willfulness that has solidified over the years. Here too, the leash is a suitable tool to keep Madame close and prevent her from wandering off. Every now and then, a brief reminder is needed that you're still there and fully aware when Ludi's thoughts wander and her mischievous side starts tickling again – she is and remains a tough nut to crack. New two- and four-legged friends can definitely expect to be put to the test first. Those who prove themselves during this test will find a cool companion in Ludi, who can fulfill the "buddy type" dog requirement. Despite all the training, Ludi understands exactly how enjoyable time spent together can be and looks forward to the next outing as soon as she sees her leash. Even if you don't always dance to her tune, she has found her personal happiness in compromise. It's already known that intelligent dog breeds have a knack for using this intelligence to their advantage. Ludi has used her years to learn to read people and perfect her puppy-dog eyes. Now it is important to offer this little mind a safe framework that provides structure but also opportunities for development, without bothering or even endangering third parties.
