Elli

Elli is our loving whirlwind. This pretty German Shepherd is a real cuddly toy, but we mustn't forget why she ended up with us at the shelter. She has a problem, and that is her explosive power.

Due to a lack of impulse control, frustration tolerance, and self-regulation, she has developed leash aggression toward other dogs, leading to biting incidents against dogs and people in the past. Elli subsequently ended up with us at the shelter and is classified as dangerous, required to wear a muzzle and leash, and is training with our behavioral trainer for her temperament test.

Elli learns very quickly and has developed wonderfully. She loves people and is slowly getting a grip on herself around other dogs, even and is becoming more and more calm. Elli walks well on a leash, knows all the basic commands, and, when clearly guided, orients herself very well to the owner.

If you are someone with experience with dogs who is looking for a loyal companion with that certain something extra, then Elli is exactly the right dog for you. However, you should avoid cycling and dog sports with her, as she has spondylosis and HD (hip damage). These do not limit her in her normal everyday life, and Elli is pain-free. Mantrailing, lunging, and obedience would be no problem. Elli is a great dog and simply fun.

We recommend that children in the new family be stable, at least 14 years old, and careful. Elli is not compatible with cats, but would benefit from a confident first dog.
