I'm Chapo
—a clever dog looking for an experienced home—I would make a great guard dog.
This is me:
With people I trust, I'm really affectionate—I enjoy their company and love attention. I'm a loyal companion to my people, communicate well with them, and am very obedient. However, it takes a while before I let someone get that close to me. I don't like strangers at all at first. I need a lot of time to build trust. I don't want to be approached or touched by strangers—that's why I'm well-suited, for example, to guard a property.
Once I trust someone, I show my affectionate side. However, I also tend to be possessive of resources. My future family should therefore have experience with dogs, be able to assess my behavior, and know how to handle such situations safely. I usually get along well with female dogs. Whether living with a suitable female dog would be possible would need to be tested carefully. I wish for… a quiet home with experienced, confident people who can provide me with security and are patient. They should live on the outskirts of a city or in a rural, low-stimulus environment. Too much hustle and bustle and constantly changing people would not be suitable for me. There should be no children in the household. I need a predictable daily routine with consistent caregivers I can rely on. Please plan several visits to the shelter to get to know me. Perhaps we are a perfect match?
