Willi, a mixed-breed male dog, originally came to us at Sonnenhof through one of our member associations. After being rehomed, he returned to us because his previous family could no longer cope with him in everyday life. Despite his age, Willi is generally fit and active and still enjoys going for walks. With people he knows well, Willi is a very sweet and friendly dog. He needs an initial getting-to-know-you period with strangers to build trust. Once he has become accustomed to his caregivers, he enjoys their closeness and looks forward to spending time together. Willi is used to wearing a muzzle and already walks well on a leash. He gets along with other dogs depending on their personalities. However, Willi doesn't particularly like children, which is why we are looking for a quiet, child-free home for him. Furthermore, Willi tends to be protective of resources towards both people and other animals. However, this issue can be managed very well in everyday life with good management and clear structures, and poses no problem in the right environment. Therefore, we are looking for people experienced with dogs who can read his body language and recognize and respect even the smallest signals early on, as Willi often only shows very subtly when something is unpleasant for him or, for example, he doesn't want to be touched. Accordingly, it is particularly important to leave Willi completely alone during his rest periods and to wait until he seeks contact again on his own. In difficult or unpleasant situations, he needs people who provide him with security and confidently guide him. Despite his past, Willi is a lovable dog who can bring his people much joy if they treat him with patience, understanding, and respect. We are looking for a loving home for him where he can spend his golden years in peace and security. The adoption process for one of our dogs usually proceeds as follows: At least three visits to Sonnenhof are planned. These visits are very important to us, as they allow you to get to know your potential new companion, and vice versa. Before the dog can finally move in with you, we will conduct a home visit.
